If you've never seen these cards in person, you're missing out. By far one of the greatest sets to be put out in the last 30 years. 2010 Panini World Cup.
These cards, IF you can ever find them, aren't cheap. Thankfully I don't need too many more, having tackled it back in 2010 until the pack supply dried up. I was soooooooo hoping for another go for the 2014 World Cup, but Panini crapped the bed by putting out Prizm instead. Prizm is probably Panini's ugliest set across all sports. And the feetsball was no exception.
These country cards are so shiny. You could signal aircraft with these things.
Cameroon
North Korea
and Paraguay. My crappy scans don't show it well, but the country name is ghosted on the left side going from bottom to top.
These next two are clear acetate cards. Two of the bigger stars I was missing. Thankfully Rooney, Ronaldo, and Messi are already tucked safely into my binder...
I always wanted a son named Yaya.
Wrapping up with two more base cards...
I was grateful to find a single seller with eight cards I needed. And even more grateful that he was having a sale. These set me back just under $9. His normal price was around $27. Yay sales!
I now need #'s 15, 27, 32, 34, 35, 46, 56, 88, 119, 153,
When I finish it, I'm scanning every page for posterity.

It's a Feetsball Miracle!
The 2015 World Cup is only six days away. Okay, so it's not then men's, but the women's turn. AND, it's here in Canada. The land of hockey, polar bears, artificial turf stadiums, poutine and the philipp's head screw driver.
I have collectors from all over the world emailing me, asking if I'm swapping stickers, full packets, and empty sticker books. To which I reply, no.
Why?
Because here in Calgary, exactly zero places are selling them. Zero. None. Nada.
Granted the ladies do not play here. The closest is Edmonton or Vancouver, but still..... it's the freaking World Cup!
*sigh*
I did manage to find a football (fine, soccer) card at the card show last weekend. It was even an on card auto.
from the 2011 Goodwin Champions set. Kasey Keller.
Kasey was part of four World Cup teams, as well as being the first American goalkeeper to play in Germany and the Premier League. Without him, no Brad Friedel, No Tim Howard, No Brad Guzan.
I think this was an SP? Maybe a case hit? I dunno. It doesn't matter. I found it in a .25 cent binder. And for the show, he had all .25 cards marked down to .10 cents.
Yeah, I pillaged those binders, let me tell you.
Anyways, GO CANADA! GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAALLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Good bye, we hardly knew you. Hello, and welcome!
The 2014-15 Barclay's Premier League season has ended. With that, we say good bye to the bottom three teams in the standings. (for those of you who don't follow English football, every season the last three teams in league standings get relegated to a lower tiered league. The top three teams from that league, called The Championship, get promoted to play in the Premier League. Think of that format applied to your favourite sporting league.)
Two teams who were promoted this season, were then promptly relegated.
At the bottom, Queens Park Rangers (QPR)
8 wins 6 draws 24 losses - 30 pts
QPR is in a bit of a bind with FIFA over their 'fair play' mandate about spending within your means.
They spent a LOT of cash to get promoted, and those moves just didn't work in the long haul. Expect a fire sale at Loftus Road over the summer transfer window as they look to get under budget.
7 wins 12 draws 19 losses - 33pts
Burnley fought bravely, but in the end were overwhelmed by more experienced teams with bigger payrolls. Look for rising stars Danny Ings, Tom Heaton and Scott Arfield to be plucked away by bigger clubs offering Burnley bushels of Euros.
Hull City F.C.
8 wins 11 draws 19 losses
Hull, one of my favourite clubs to watch, fell short of avoiding the drop on the final day. They had to win, combined with a Newcastle loss to stay up. It was not to be as the drew Manchester United at home while Newcastle broke an 11 game losing skid to defeat West Ham.
I'll miss them. but Steve Bruce has what it takes to bring them back.
On a more positive note.... we have added three new clubs. We welcome to the 2015-16 Premier League....
Norwich City F.C.
the Premier League will once again be visiting Carrow Road after a brief hiatus. The Cannaries were relegated after the 2013-14 season, spending one season in the Championship before earning another promotion.
Watford F.C
Watford! Watford! WATFORD!
The Hornets are back after an 8 year absence. I for one, can't wait. And I know that Arsenal may have one fewer fan next season....
Bournemouth AFC won the Championship title on the last day of the season, and come up to the Premier League for the first time in their 117 year existence.
Patience pays off people. Never give up. Don't ever give up.
I for one, cannot wait until the new season kicks off. But before we get to that, we'll have a few months of transfer rumours and dealings to get through.
Have any hopes for you club?

Premier League Contest - Match 28
Pay attention! It's Match 28 of 38.
It seems that the Table is starting to take shape. The top is seperating themselves, while the bottom feeders are struggling to stay out of relegation.
Manchester United eliminated two more teams this past weekend.

They have the opportunity to eliminate three more teams if everything falls correctly. Although I don't think Liverpool is going down quite that easily...
Matches this week fall on Sat, Sun, and Monday... so get your updates in by Tuesday lunch.
Go United!

Premier League Contest - Match 22
A sad day indeed... this is the last pack out of the box.
But let's soldier through.
Cecille Gahr works on her throw in technique... over the head love, not to the side.
But let's soldier through.

Tiffany Selby dares you to come and take her ball....
Sweet jesus. My next ex-wife, Lisa Gleave.
A dual! Alana Cury and Katie Lohmann team up in sportsmanship.
and finally, Tira Provost to end things off.
All matches are this weekend, so let's get your posts in by Monday lunch.
How did your team do in the FA Cup this past week? Or did they add/lose anyone during the transfer window so far???

Premier League Contest - Match 20
I have virtually no time at all for anything this time of year, let alone blogging.
Let me re-phrase. I somehow fail to make time for things like blogging. If it wasn't for this contest, I wouldn't be posting anything. Let's hear it for deadlines.
As it is, my blog now looks like a retail site for buying bikinis. Such is life.
Everyone knows the drill by now... all teams play this weekend, so please get your posts in by monday lunch.
Any later than that and most of you will have started your pre-new years festivities....
Have a Happy and safe New Year.... and Go United!!!

Premier League Contest - Game 17
No fancy pack break this weekend... too darn busy. It's that time of year you know. Or so everyone keeps telling me.
Am I the only one that feels like I'm caught in some sort of time warp? And the only way out is to spend skads of money, only I don't have any?
Moving on.... there are games today, Sunday and Monday, with two teams, Chelsea and Southampton having the weekend off for some odd reason.
Let's get your posts in by tuesday lunch, mmmmmmmkay?
And above all remember, Go United!

Premier League Contest - Week 8
It's Saturday again... where the hell did the week go??? Ah well... time for more feetsball.
A heckuva win by Manchester United last week to keep pace at the top of the table. Another tough test this week hosting dayf's Arsenal squad. At least RVP is wearing the right kit this time.
South Korean Lauren Kim starts us off this week with the latest jungle themed kit.
Swiss striker Jen Sibley attempts to blind her oppenents with her teeth... sweet mother.... my eyes...
South African Carrie Stroup supporst Breat Cancer Awareness Month with her pink attire. But that was last month. Everyone has moved on already...
Italian Shay Lyn... Viva Italia!
Welsh winger Nikki Gray shows the latest in insulted shorts for the winter months.
We've got a match on Monday... so all comments in by tuesday noon please.
Go United!

Premier League contest - Week 2 - You can still sign up ...
Time for Week Two!
If you're new to the contest, you can sign up below. After the pictures. There WILL be words after the pictures.
For those of you who already have signed up, leave your responses in the comments at the end.
I'm disappointed with this first one. I was under the impression that the Premier League and World Cup kits would be authentically represented in painstaking detail.
No one wears pink in the Premier League.
Kathie Smith must be wearing some sort of training kit.
Not only is Allegra Wynne good for your allergies, but your rules interpretation as well.
A Gold Star for those of you who gave young Allegra a Yellow Card for wearing jewellry while on the pitch. (A ring, on her finger. Her finger. By the ball! Never mind...)
Tamara Witmer has been sent off and will not be allowed back on the pitch until she strips off that torn jersey and replaces it with a fresh one.
Nothing wrong with Nicole Bennett here... but unfortunately the trainer seems to have shrunken her top. Might be a titch uncomfortable to play in that! Especially during throw-ins.
Speaking of throw-ins, Jacqueline Finnan shows us the correct form for a proper throw-in. Well done!
Alright. Now onto the contest. To refresh everyone's memory, or to inform those newcomers who wish to participate, I will post a pack of these cards every Saturday during the season. In the comments section, post the SCORE of your favourite team's game, and at least ONE GOAL SCORER from the game, either team. If the game ends 0-0, then instead of one goal scorer, list BOTH STARTING KEEPERS.
Also, if you're new, let me know who your favourite team is. If you don't have one..... go HERE <------Clicky and choose one.
All of the teams have their icon at the top that will take you to their home page. Do a little reading and have fun choosing!
If you post by the deadline of Monday, 3pm MST, and get all three things correct, you will get 3pts. If you mess up on something, I'll probably give you 1pt. Not posting gets you nuthin'.
This is a season long contest, so there's lot's of time to get in and win.
The standings after one week.... as can be expected, are deadlocked. EDIT ALERT!!!: it must be the heat or something.... they are not deadlocked, as bob and Reds did not post the required info by the monday deadline. My bad....
Adam E - Liverpool - 3pts
Chuck's Used Cards - Liverpool - 3 pts
Commishbob - Manchester united - 1pt
Dan - Newcastle - 3pts
dayf - Arsenal - 3pts
FanOfReds - Manchester United - 1pt
Kazi - Southampton - 3pts
Play at the Plate - Queen's Park Rangers - 3pts
Richard Nebe Jr. - Reading - 3pts
The Dutch Card Guy - Tottenham - 3pts
any questions? leave a comment and an email and I'll answer... otherwise get watching and commenting!
