Long story short, we pulled a redemption. Great. You all know how the hobby is queasy with the idea of UD redemptions right now. But we redeemed it, and have been keeping track of it in the sidebar to the right.
Well, today, there was a knock at the door and a nice Fed Ex lady handed me this package.
I put a card of Sidney Crosby in the top right corner to kind of give you an idea of the size of this thing. Rather odd... I'm not expecting anything... check the return address, Carlsbad, CA.
Sweet!
Let's tear it open and see what's inside.
A 6x9 bubble envelope. It's like a redemption nesting doll. Why didn't they just slap a stamp on this bubble envelope? I hear money's tight right now....
So let's tear this thing open and see what's inside...
Well worth the 31 day wait. I figure UD has been taking a lot of bad press lately... it's about time they had some good.
Thanks UD! Your football sets will be missed by this collector.

Wow! That's kind of beautiful.
I'm not a big fan of those signed patch cards....mostly because the people signing them don't take the time to make it look nice. Mr. Sayers took the time and that looks really, really nice. Congrats just on getting it!
I don't collect football, I'm not a letter patch person, and Upper Deck and I haven't spoken in years, but Gale Sayers trumps all that. Looks good.
I agree with everything the Night Owl said... Plus I will add a holy crap and a wow! VERY NICE!!!
Very nice.
Awesome!
I am glad for your success with Upper Deck. I am STILL waiting for the two Artifacts Rookies I redeemed back in January. If it drags out any longer I will be posting their scans on the backs of milk cartons.
WOW!!! THAT'S a sweet card. UD did do good for you!
It's nice to see they are still honoring their redemptions. I posted on my blog about the email I got from them too saying mine shipped.
It is also nice to see that the letter is actually in Gale's last name. I hate the letters that spell something contrary to the player on the card.
Nice stuff.
Very cool, especially since it did not take all that long for the redemption to show up.
