Falling behind and catching up Goose Joak style

I've been neglecting my Goose Joak responsibilities. Been distracted by shiny things, pretty girls, snacks, not necessarily in that order.
Here we go.
First up, the worst Braves outfielder since Raul Mondesi. At least John Schuerholz had the decency to release Mondesi. It looks like we're stuck with Anderson.
Next, we have infielder Brooks Conrad. I posted about Brooks here. He hasn't stopped hitting since.
Diory Hernandez. In the minors, he was all stick, no glove. In the bigs, it's been the opposite. Go figure.
Now we have Javier Vazquez. Top of the league in strikeouts. His secret? He throws underhanded.
future CF'er Jordan Schafer. Jordan needs to remember to hit the ball on the ground, and Run Jordan, Run!
New Brave, Nate McLouth. Nate will be in left field next year. Garret will not. Thank the gods.
You can see the rest of 'em here.

Cards I want to see made...

More of my contributions to the Goose Joak Project... knocking off a few more of the pitching staff...

I think this Kenshin guy is going to be good.... watching him dominate the Blue Jays and Roy Halladay was sweeeet. I didn't think Japanese pitchers pitched with that much emotion...

Your opinion please...

My latest contributions to the 2009 Goose Joak baseball card set.

First up, BMac...
Next, a choice. Your choice. Which Chipper Jones card should be submitted?

A) It's wabbit season...
or B) Sweetswing in motion?

You decide. Post your fave in the comments please.

The only baseball I'll even speak about right now....

It's gaining momentum... the premier Goose Joak baseball card set. The latest entries? I'm glad you asked...
One of the better moves this off season, re-signing one of baseball's best pinch hitters.

Greg Norton
Greg played simply awesome last season. Let's hope for more of the same this year.

And one of the kids. CF Josh Anderson.
Josh should've been getting his shot this year. He's not. And I don't want to talk about it.
Do they really think our farm system is no better than a no glove 37 year old???

See Upper Deck???

A card of Kelly Johnson..... with a picture of ... KELLY JOHNSON! It's not hard to do at all.

I just don't understand how it can be this difficult.

Team name? Check.
Player name? Check.
Spellcheck? Double check.
Correct Player Photo??!?!???!??! Check.

Read and learn Upper Deck.... Read and learn.....

working on a set that I can actually finish...

The latest Braves effort that I'll send over to Dave at Goose Joak for the 2009 all inclusive card set.
(my wife picked out the picture... I wanted one of him gunning someone out at the plate... she wanted one showing him from behind. We comprimised.)

Happy Birthday Jair!

We're combining posts in an effort to be more efficient. Today's birthday post is being combined with card #2 in the Goose Joak 2009 Invitational Card Set...
Braves starter Jair Jurrjens is turning 23 today. Jair was acquired from Detroit with Gorkys Hernandez for Edgar Renteria.
Happy Birthday Jair! Stay healthy... we need you.

I'm in... I'm all in....

The last thing I needed is another "project". I need to organize my cards... keep all the trades up to date... and, oh yeah, have a life along with working 10 hour days.
But Dave over at Goose Joak suckered me into his latest amazing venture. For those of you who are not yet familiar with what he's doing... go to his blog and check it out.
Here's my first effort.
Those of you who know me know that I'm not the most computer savvy person in the world. This rather simple card almost caused a blood clot in my brain. But I stuck with it, and you see the results.
More Braves to come, if my Advil supply holds out.

EDIT: opinion please... border? or no border?

It came!!!!! It finally came!!!!

I've been waiting so long.... ever since the first one arrived unannounced. And today, it finally arrived.
I didn't want to beg... I didn't want to appear impatient. After all, Dave does this over at Goose Joak out of the goodness of his heart, the love of the game, and an apparent lack of a life. (I'm kidding!!!! I kid.... I'm a kidder..)
Check it out!
1976 Topps Adam LaRoche! The world is a better place with more Adam LaRoche cards!

1976 Topps is a set I'm going to collect... I've already started on the Braves team set... now I just have to make the plunge and do the rest of it.
One day.....

Rare 1976 Topps Rookie Find!!!

An unbelievable find! A 1976 Topps Chipper Jones Rookie!
Yes! 17 years before his debut, Topps had the forethought to release a rookie card of a lock Hall of Famer.
Who am I kidding? There is no way Topps and forethought should ever be in the same sentence.
This beauty is from Dave at Goose Joak. If you've never read his blog, go and check it out.
Pure Awesome.

Look at the card! Off centre, left to right! Nice! And the corner! Top right... bent! Beautiful!!
1976 is the year I would collect if I could. I've started with the Braves team set, and only need a couple more to complete it... But being where I am, there is no way I could ever find singles... I'll have to keep an eye out for a lot or box on the 'bay...

Thanks Dave! If only I had a hard copy............
