I think I always managed to talk mom in to one box of Twinkies a year. I must have done better in 1978 because I have 18 cards, so that's 6 boxes! Or maybe I bought them myself... who knows. I think I'd puke eating a single Twinkie now, last one I had was a bite of a deep fried one at the rodeo... ugh, horrible.

My mom would never buy that stuff either.

Scary story: we would go to one of our friend's houses so we could eat that stuff. They had it everywhere. Unfortunately, both of my friend's parents later died at a young age (health related). I can't help but make the connection.

King Dons were my weekness. Mine looked like a typical 9 year old art project with Lefty scissors. Very butchered up.

I lived it. Ding Dongs and HoHos were my favorites. I still have a bunch of the cards in panels.

I wish they had done this in 1990. I could have had all the '90 Donruss cards I ever wanted.

Oh, wait. I can still do that for free.

Little known fact: Every wax box is made of '90 D0nruss cards.

Cards That Never Were said...

My brother and I would go through all the boxes looking for players. It didn't matter what was in the box.

1993, Hostess issues cards with it's Baseballs cupcakes. (If you never saw them, they look like this http://vrijspel.tk/uploads/hostess-baseballs---1993-94814.jpg) That box had 6 cards inside. Well I worked in a town with a Hostess Discount Store. They discounted all the product, some of it was fresh, some stale. I ate the fresh stuff and the stale went to the ducks in the local pond. It's a wonder I didn't become diabetic. Those things were awfully sweet.

If anyone needs any of those cards, I have a bunch to trade and some full sets.
