Defensman Chris Pronger has been traded by the Anaheim Ducks to the Philadelphia Flyers for defensman Luca Sbisa (the Flyers 1st round pick last year) this years 1st round pick, #21 overall, and next years 1st round pick, along with forward Joffrey Lupul and a conditional 3rd round pick.
This is huge for the Flyers. Pronger, 6'6" 225lbs, is the kind of physical blueliner Philly has been missing since Derian Hatcher retired. In a division with Alexander Ovechkin and Sydney Crosby, the Flyers needed to bulk up on the back line.
Anaheim gets younger with Sbisa, along with 3 more draft picks, and some offensive help on the second line with Lupul. Interestingly enough, this is Lupul's second stint with the Ducks. He was traded from Anaheim to Edmonton three years ago for, Chris Pronger. What goes around I guess.
