Better Late Than Never

a lot of you have seen the Secret Santa postings that Sarah from A Rookie Card Collector organized. I received mine today. You'd think that it was really late, but when considering the source (beardy), it's not. He decided to mail a package, destination the other side of the continent and a different country, on the 18th of December, expecting it to get here in 6 days. That's beardy for you. Now yes, it was supposed to be a "Secret" Santa, but if the return address of Admantium Maryland, or Strontium Maryland, whatever the hell it was didn't give it away, there's always the tag.
That and the 47 emails consisting of "Did you get it yet?" "How about now?"

Whatever. Let's rip it.

First up, a Jeff Francoeur A&G back mini

I'm not sure if this is the only random Brave card he had laying around, or rather a gentle reminder to me of how we got raped in the trade with the Muts. Knowing beardy, the latter.

Next, a Napoleon Bonaparte mini. Rather random you'd think. But again, it's beardy. He's rather protective of a certain dead president. And I take great delight in slighting him at any opportunity. This card is a reminder that it's not over. It's never over.

Now we're getting somewhere. A bue bordered '09 Topps Chrome Marion Barber. Sweetness.
An '08 Topps Chrome Super Califragilistic XFractor of said beast of a running back.
and the grand finale.
Words need not apply.
A huge thanks to my Secret Santa. And remember kids. James Polk is a pussy. Good night.

Trading with Beardy, and a poll... Fun!

First off, I am soooooo behind in my trade posts... I'll catch up, I promise.
anyways, awhile back I posted my doubles list for '09 A&G and Beardy was one of the first to respond. I had a SP he needed, and he happened to have two SP's that I needed. Done. Simple.
No? As usual, it went a little further. I sent him some crap (Orioles) and he sent me some awesome cards! (Braves) Both extras that the other didn't know about.
But while we were chatting online, I mentioned I had an '09 Ginter auto of Rich Hill (Orioles) I told him I'd throw it in for any auto, no matter the team. I could always trade that to someone else.
After some thought (this IS Beardy we're talking about) He remembered he had an auto of someone who plays for Atlanta.

Yes. Ryan Church. In a Mets uni. *sigh* Sure dude. Done deal. A little more chatter, and the bearded one says, "wow. do you think there ever was a more craptastic trade?"
Let me see... the weakest hitting outfielder in the National League wearing a Mets uni, traded to a Braves fan for..... well...... Rich Freakin' Hill.
No. Never has there been a worse trade of more useless crap.

I'm going to be away for a couple of days... (don't get any ideas, I have my attack kitty standing guard) so I'll leave you with this.

Who got the crappier end of the trade?

Me? - Ryan Church in a Mets uni
Beardy? - Rich Freakin' Hill

thoughts and comments please

Tradeaway returns

Awhile back I proposed a tradeaway... here and here, and some of the return packages are starting to come in.
This first one is from Duane of Democratic Roadkill. Duane offered to send me a few of the '08 A&G I still needed,
and threw in some "junkwax type Braves" as he put it.
all under the condition that I didn't send him '88 Donruss wax packs. Apparently Duane has put out restraining orders on people who send those. Okay. (but I think I might've snuck in a '90 Donruss...)
Thanks Duane!
The 2nd one today comes from reader Greg, (you know him as Beardy)... Greg sent some random Braves, including a Murph that I didn't have and a shiny Chipper....
along with some more of '08 A&G off of my wantlist.
Sweet! I may finish this sucker yet before the '09 comes out....... maybe....
Thanks guys! Great trading with you.
