Game on! Predictions, anyone?

First up this weekend we have the Game of the Weekend. I'm hoping whomever wins this one, goes on and takes the whole shebang.

Green Bay vs Chicago. A battle of the NFC North.

 Aaron Rodgers against Jay Cutler. Two young QB's coming into their own. Should be a great one.

In the evening we have the AFC Championship. Jets at Pittsburgh.

 on paper this should be a no brainer. The Jets shouldn't even be there. But they are. That's why they play the games people.

The Great Carnac says The Pack in a close one, and Pittsburgh running away.

I'm sooooo behind.....

I know, it's hard to believe. Me. Behind in my posting. Shocker. I've finally finished sorting my cards from the two boxes I busted the other day. Look for them shortly. And I've got about a half dozen trade packages piling up by the scanner waiting for their turn.

So in the meantime, I give you this. A 1979 Topps Pittsburgh Steelers Team Leaders checklist (unmarked!) that was sent to me by none other than Don Ortega. The Godfather of south Florida. Or is it north Florida? No. I think it's south. Whatever. It's warm and beachy, not under the cover of snow like I am.

That's right, Thursday Night Football. Doesn't quite have the same ring to it, but maybe in 25 years it will.
The 2009 NFL season is upon us, with th eopening matchup featuring the defending Super Bowl Champion (Boo! Arizona got robbed) Pittsburgh Steelers vs. the Tennessee Titans live from Pittsburgh.
That means several things. First, you won't be seeing any of this:
She is still in Tennessee. But you won't be seeing any of the Steeler variety either. I've never been to Pittsburgh so I'm not sure, but maybe there aren't any young, hot girls who can dance?
Maybe they're all working in the steel mill... a quick google images search (btw, DO NOT google image search Steeler Cheerleaders... you'll be scarred for life) shows that there are, in fact, Pittsburgh Cheerleaders that will come to your Steeler event. But they are in Tampa, Florida.

Doesn't say much for Pittsburgh, does it?

But back to the game. Since the NFL went to this opening thursday night format, the home team has won 6 of the 7 times. Advantage: Pittsburgh. The last time these two teams played last year, a couple of Titans took to stomping on the Steelers beloved Terrible Towel. Like the fans need a reason to get pumped up. Advantage: Steelers.
